3rd Grade
Here is a list of expectations, rules, and procedures that are the same for all 3rd graders at Cloud Elementary:
- Students are to read for 15 to 20 minutes 4 times a week as homework.
- On the days that your child’s class has P.E., please make sure they are wearing appropriate shoes or have shoes to change into in their backpacks.
- P.E. is on Mondays and Thursdays
- Library happens once a week. Please remind your child to return their books to school.
- Lauber, Thimesch, and Rodriguez have library on Mondays.
- Kerschen has library on Thursdays.
- Students can bring a water bottle to school. It can only contain water. Students who make holes in the lids of their bottles, will have them thrown away.
- In third grade, students do a lot of writing. We only use pencils. We will provide them as needed. Please keep all pens at home.
- Toys are to be kept at home. The only exception is if your child can bring a fidget or stuffed animal as a reward.
- We have recess equipment. Students are not allowed to bring cleats, shin guards, goalie gloves, or any other sports equipment.
- Students are not allowed to have gum.
- There are times when we will be using iPads, and your child will need headphones. We have them in the classroom to borrow. We can provide 1 pair of earbuds per student. Students can bring their own headphones from home. We are not allowing earbuds or wireless headphones.
- If someone not on the pick-up list is picking up your child at the end of the school day, please let the office know ahead of time. They will then let us know.
- If you’d like to come celebrate your child’s birthday with them in their classroom, please contact the teacher to set up a time.
- Classrooms will be using Seesaw to showcase student work and activities happening in the classroom. Please make sure you are signed up and connected to your child’s classroom.
- Students are being rewarded monthly for their attendance with a special party with the principals. Remember that tardies (late to school and leaving early) affect your child’s attendance. We do understand that most appointments happen during the day, and it’s hard to get around those. We love the support of parents and guardians.
